Linden Lab
Having spent considerable effort in trying to convince the users of Second life, that closing forums would be constructive, they failed.
Much like a child in a tantrum, the Linden Lab executive further decided that they would permit official response, via their blog, knowing full well this would receive criticism.
In a further turn of petulance, the powers at Linden Lab decided that it would be far better to have a new blog in which it was more difficult for users to post under their Second Life name on the pretext that it was better and more stable.
The resulting upheaval has created a blog in which to post, to the blog, users have to create a new account, with a third party.
The bizarre fact is that having deleted numerous areas of the original forum, Linden Lab, still post on the forum, discuss issues with users of Second Life and permit the forum to be used as an information and discussion area within tighter guidelines.
It is not a mystery why Linden Lab insist on the blog, it is simple dogma.
The Company have as a mantra, ‘Your world, your imagination’. this blog fetish is the archetypal mission statement dichotomy faced by so many Corporates, who feel the need to forget why they are doing what they are doing and come to believe that because of limited success, they can now forget their customers.
